In high school, I finally got up the nerve to ask this girl out that I really liked, and she said yes. I showed up at her house and met her parents, who seemed to like me. (Girls always told me their parents liked me, because I'd actually look them in the eye and talk to them unlike other guys.). So, she and I leave for our dinner/movie date, and as we're driving, she asks me to pull the car over. She then explains how she just needed me to get her out of the house, because her parents hated this other (and older) guy and had told her they didn't want her to see him again. She thanks me, jumps out of the car, and takes off leaving me sitting there a little shell shocked. Yeah, that was an awkward date.
