If you marry a well endowed man. Don't complain about it for 15 years before divorcing him.

ANewCovenant · 56-60, M
Understanding that marriage is a symbol of Christ and His church, that it's a one flesh relationship, not a 50-50 tug o war.....other than that, no snoring! :)
ANewCovenant · 56-60, M
@Mguinm unless one of you has sleep apnea that is, then you need lots of compassion and ear plugs!....and a CPAP machine would help too!
Mguinm · 51-55, F
@ANewCovenant earplugs are always great!

I would recommend against rules... because the whole concept of rules will set you up to be watching for when your spouse breaks one of them... and then you will point out their failure to keep the rule to them. A better way is to become a student and servant of your spouse... Learn what they like, and give that to them... pay attention to where they need help, and help them... and love them always, remembering that love is a verb, it is what you choose to do... love is you giving of yourself to them.

Accept each other as you are. If you expect to change the other person, you are probably not with the right person.

These should be determined before marriage. But I don’t think people know themselves nor each other well enough from the beginning.

You have to have topics you can discuss beyond sex and work unless you work in the same place

You have to have shared pastime you both really enjoy so you can both share. And grow together having fun in life

Have to have an agreed up way to spend your spare time and chore time.

An agreed upon chore list with deadlines noted with optional or priority numbers

Have to spend the same amount of time with children if both parent are working. Not necessarily at the same time, each parent needs a break— a schedule would be helpful
It is imperative that you thank and say kind things about your partner every nite. Touching is NOT enough for a woman. And Everyman shoe have a wife that can see his qualities too. The smallest things we appreciate are sometimes the most important to say out loud

You are each other’s cheerleaders! Cheer and comfort one another with words and physical affection too.

Understand that sess related desires and behaviors change with time..... just like other habits. Even after marriage most couple view sess differently.

Understand each other’s financial goals and spending habits. Set goals and practices.

Understand what are expected roles and negotiate these — changing them as needed.

Know that in modern society yes, your partner might leave you if you don’t work with them, and Visa versa.

Love them and subscribe to organizations (church or sports, nonprofits volunteering), books, events, domestic duties that support the married lifestyle that you believe in.

Be forgiving. Be patient. Always hold each other especially after arguing !!!!! Well as soon as possible. Not when someone is piping hot. Do not let pride keep you from apologizing or at least saying — I want to work this out so that we are both satisfied. I don’t want this to be one sided?

Don’t get married!
Don't fuck other people
Mindful · 56-60, F
Although I agree with this, forbidden sex shouldn’t be the reason to end a marriage.Theres probably greater issues in someone or in the relationship that would lead them from being faithful to unfaithful. And crossing that line, creates a lot of confusion that makes it look like sex was the problem, when it’s probably poor communication and an unwillingness to compromise where it matters most@MicrowaveDinner
