Would you forgive your significant other if he/she abuse you? Have you ever forgive an abuser?

I know violence is something very serious but I know a lot of people that forgive their abusers after these people apologize, cry, beg etc.

Have done. Mostly emotional abuse but some physical, too. But forgiving doesn't mean letting your guard down. Forever vigilant. And if I were more physically vulnerable I'd have left her.

Discuss. Unpack origins. Identify triggers. Control contexts. Communicate. But you have to trust that the other person is willing to commit to change. Not easy. Probably wouldn't recommend it.
