Would you forgive your significant other if he/she abuse you? Have you ever forgive an abuser?

I know violence is something very serious but I know a lot of people that forgive their abusers after these people apologize, cry, beg etc.

I have forgiven them, but that does not mean that I still allow them the opportunity to abuse me. Forgiveness is a healing choice I made for myself, but in no way does it free my abusers from the consequences of their actions.
