I've always been skeptical of long distance romances/relationships, some of them work but so many more end up either a constant struggle or even disastrous. Now to me living with relatives is definitely a no go. I realize that there may be circumstances when it might be a necessity, but that should be temporary at best. Whether the couple (or family) lives in the relative's home or has the relatives in theirs it is often asking for trouble if not immediately from the get go, then somewhere down the line. Lots of clashing and tension (not to mention potential interference) is inevitable and a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode. I personally wouldn't recommend it unless you happen to be the Waltons.
