when someone isnt ready to commit but obviously wants you to stay in their life..
do you just leave or be patient and wait for them a bit more?

What they are really saying is, 'I'm not ready to commit, but I want YOU to commit.'
If you ARE ready to commit to somebody and your current S.O. is not ready, sure, you can wait, but don't kid yourself that he is just postponing committing to you. He is not committed, he is not ready to commit and it is entirely possible when he is ready to commit, it won't be to you,
