Is it rude what I did ?

It started raining outside...afterwards I sat with a lady and she told me that she was standing outside. I replayed: did you have an umbrella or you were showered by the rain ?

She got offended. I never intended to offend her was just trying to be funny.

Umm, a stranger (woman) may not want to be asked if they are showered. This may be where SW is leading you astray in boundaries.
