Companionship, trust, an respect...to me they are the three main building blocks of a solid relationship.
Okay, slight revision/addition: Communication, honesty, vulnerability, supportiveness, and deep friendship can all be added to the mix as well. All eight of these can make for a good and lasting relationship and marriage. (Thanks to all the ones who mentioned these馃)
