Should someone in a relationship

Have a password in their phone?
wintersecret · 41-45, M Best Comment
Keep the Password on phone so if you loose the phone you dont loose the data easily

but password should be known by both in Relationship - That's Trust

@wintersecret thanks for BA
NodandaWink · 51-55, M
@wintersecret He has already proven untrustworthy. There is no trust so his unwillingness to share his password is obviated. She just needs to move on.
Frankly if there was trust she wouldn't need his password to spy on him.

Lol I'd throw your phone out the window into the rain while you are asleep.

Absolutely, it's security. Your SO may not be the only one that may come across your phone. Also how would you find out they had a password on their phone unless you were trying to snoop in their phone? So then the trust issue is that you can't be trusted which would validate their having a password.

@NodandaWink You need proof to know if he can be trusted or not so...
NodandaWink · 51-55, M
You have stated that he has already broken your trust in the past. So you don't trust him. If you did you wouldn't need to check on him. You are just a game player and are looking for excuses to justify it.
karysma · 31-35, F
@NodandaWink It's not my fault he can't be trusted

I have a password but that so people dont get into my phone. My hubby has my passcode and i do not know his but thats because i never remember it. His told me many times. I... just forget.
I've always had one on my phone. Had one before I met him and I still do. He was free to look through my nude photos all he'd like, but I didn't want anyone else coming upon those.

I found it a bit weird when he suddenly put one on his phone since he didn't have one when we first started dating, but he explained himself when I questioned it.

I dont necessarily think having a password on your phone is a bad sign, but certainly pay attention to how they act when they use the phone around you if you're having suspicions.

Of course. If you have a decent job it makes sense. If you need to go through my phone then it’s already over
Yes! My password is here with or without a partner. Same with me deleting emails, messages, pictures, history. I do that regardless of a relationship. 🙄

But if they ask, they can totally have the code.

I think passwords should always be used. Apart from privacy, access to phone is almost a verification of identity these days, and shouldn't be compromised, in my opinion.

When i was in a relationship i never locked my phone or computer and always took calls in front of my partner. I know there has to be trust but appearing to be hiding something is never good.
LyricalOne · F
Sure. It’s good for security purposes.
LyricalOne · F
@karysma Anyone who tries to steal the phone will be locked out and unable to use it.

Whatever relationship you’re referring to doesn’t sound very good if this is a concern.
karysma · 31-35, F
@LyricalOne then you should give him your password. You're human and temptation happens to test relationships. Some manage to fight it and some fail and you know what happens when you fail
LyricalOne · F
@karysma There’s trust. I’m good thanks.
Tryingtofindabalance · 36-40, M
I do... but she’s free to look at anything anytime she wants

I have no problem giving my password to my partner. He knows them all.

[c=#BF0080]Relationship or not, when you have a toddler who has managed to change someone’s iPhone language to Chinese 2xs- you need a password 😳[/c]
karysma · 31-35, F
@MellyMel22 should your spouse know your password then?
MellyMel22 · F
@karysma [c=#BF0080]I don’t see why not [/c]
