How many marriage proposals have your gotten on SimWo?

Really! I’ve had 4 so far! Makes me wonder how many women actually accept these proposals.
I’m not even remotely interested. I’ve had them profess their undying love without seeing any face pictures. I don’t think I’m that charming!
Granted, I think they mostly want green cards or visas.
I kind of play along just to see how far they are willing to go.
I guess I come across as someone who would accept some random guy in a country far away with not much to offer.
Geez I need to step up my game!

Well, it may be green cards... but you should also know that in many countries, in South Asia, for example... where pre-marital relationships are kinda taboo, many guys see "Will you marry me?" as a sleazy way of getting a girl to give in to sex. These would be guys who grew up in more rural areas and such, and are not really aware of how dating or hooking up with single women work. It's their version of "Do you wanna talk sex online and send me nudes?".

Now, some may be actual people looking for that green card and stuff... but the other thing is more probable. Plus, in traditional cultures... bringing someone from outside of your culture or religion into your family, is also a big hurdle. If the proposals you're getting are from those parts, then trust me, it's more than likely not a real proposal. A lot of these guys wouldn't dream of bringing someone outside their culture to their families through a marriage. This is their naive but slimy way of saying "Nudes and kinky talk?"

@DarkLadyNight The tragic thing is it does work with girls who live around there, esp in the more traditional parts. A lot. If you're a single girl living there, and pre-marital sex is taboo... then a guy comes and professes his undying love, and vows that she and him will get married. She might end up falling for it, and give into sex. She thinks it wouldn't matter because they will be married soon enough. Then the guy walks away, breaking her trust... and if the relationship comes out, she gets the brunt of the disgrace and family anger. You know, that old school, sexist BS. Women being held to a much higher standard than the guys.

The poetic justice here is, the same sleazy guys are trying to operate outside the world they know... and it's ridiculous and funny to watch. Because they are trying the same crap on women who don't live in that world.

So in essence, you are playing with slimy creeps, who are usually the victors in these games, but this time they are being played with. Do it for the girls , whose trust they actually broke. Justice! 😠
