Good idea? Bad?

Thinking about leaving a positive pregnancy test out for my partner to find to kind of tell him without telling him... opinions?

Very. Bad. Idea.

@DunningKruger why exactly?

@tuquoque If you have something to say to him, then you should just say it, not hint around about it and hope that he picks up on the clues. If you're pregnant, then he kind of should know that sort of thing, unless there is a good reason for not telling him. I get the impression that you're expecting that he'll be unhappy about this news. Well, maybe he will be. That's too bad for him. He has a responsibility to you and to the child, if that's the direction you choose to go in. That sort of passive-aggressive expectation that your partner should pick up whatever clues you're hinting around about is potentially damaging to you, to him and to your relationship.

That's my opinion, anyway, which you asked for.

@DunningKruger I didn’t really set up the context, which Is somewhat relevant. We have been wanting a family for a while. We had a pregnancy loss that made us back away from those plans for a while. I’m sure he’ll be happy, I just thought it would be something funny to do. I can’t imagine him being mad lol.

@tuquoque That's a different context, then.
