Can’t i just get any respect in this house?

To make a long story short, told my parents i wanted to meet my online friend in person who i have already seen and spoken to for a year, but like Asian parents they flipped out. I understand their concerns and i respect it 100%, but what i found disrespectful was that my mom decided to tell her friends about my private life the next day. There’s a reason why i tell my parents about my life because i value their opinion, well because they’re my parents and i love them, but it hurts me when they need to tell everybody and their cousins about it.

Encouraging her to lie to her folks is crap advice lol be up front with them and respect their concerns and tell your online mate to meet up at your parents place - introduce etc and get on with the day @SW-User

@SW-User they know i still talk to him lol. I called my mom out on it and i feel great that she feels bad right now, but i know that she’s gonna find something to make me feel guilty so she think shes right 😂

@SW-User Uh you dont know Asian parents, also, she sounds smart enough to know that you shouldn’t trust people online much
