Dating questions

Why is it men start a conversation on dating site and when i respond, they say "Sounds great", "Ok" or something like that and don't say anything after that.

Does that mean they don't want to prolong the conversation or do they want me to take the initiative and talk more?

The issue is that these guys are on a dating site and with all the guys on that site they are in shock that there may be an interest in them and they are now dumbfounded how to continue the conversation.
They are concerned that any topic they may initiate may be a deal breaker.
It is easier for them to respond to conversations that focus on the women's topic of interests.
