Dating questions

Why is it men start a conversation on dating site and when i respond, they say "Sounds great", "Ok" or something like that and don't say anything after that.

Does that mean they don't want to prolong the conversation or do they want me to take the initiative and talk more?

@SW-User Here is the thing, since i don't know any one on the dating site, just by looking at the profile, they all are ok. Couple of guys really stand out. Yeah, may be i should be proactive.

@Sireeshak this is the kinda response that would make me say 'sounds great' and not reply anymore. I asked you something specific, you pretty much chose to ignore that and answer a question I didn't ask. very indicative that you're not engaged in what I'm saying and just want to say what you have to say, possibly wanting me to ask about some certain things, but no hints as to what that might be.

@SW-User I usually answer to questions. Today a dude asked, "What are your looking for?"

I told him, "Based on our profiles we don't have common interests, since you said you can start out with friendship and see how it goes, i like that idea."

He responded, "Sounds great"

So what does that mean, we continue chatting until the friendship builds?
