Should you date someone just because they're in love with you ?

This guy he's really doing everything to be with me. Literally everything. He could get me a piece of the moon if that would make me agree. He even said he loved me and told me it slipped.
Thing is I really like thiss guy. And I appreciate how much he cares and to how length he's ready to go just to get me.
But I tried talking to him for now 2 months.
He's so not my type...
He's so far away from it.
We literally have zero point in common.
And I told him about it.
He said who cares different is perfect, and opposites attract. And so many other sweet things that make him seem even more of a great guy.
:( Idk what to do.
He's super sweet and cute.

He seems to care. He also seems to be a hard worker. If he's also honest then go for it. That's really all you need in a man. It's all our grandparents needed to make it last. Having the same idea of fun wasn't deal breaker for them. Today having the same idea of fun matters a lot to people but that idea itself changes all the time. You realize how difficult it will be to find someone who matches your ever-changing self? It's good to have someone you share some values with. The rest of what you like or dislike goes with the mood of the day, year, what TV show you're watching or the friend you're hanging out with. It's always time to learn new things. It opens new horizons. You're very young. The world is big if you open your mind.
