For me i think it's better if the woman is a bit younger. No more than four years. I am currently in a relationship with someone seven years older and we are both over 55. I am an old soul. Always have been as my parents were in their fourties when I was born. She retiring and I am still working. When she went through menopause all interest in sex disappeared. She will not take hormones. Her interests in music are quite different and she is a vegetarian. We are comfortable together, we do not fight, but I think things would have been a bit more stimulating with someone younger or at least with a few more things in common.

For the female being older? Yeah. That's a pretty big gap. 1-2 years is much more doable. Most of mine have been a year or two older than me. At least, when I was your age. Women typically don't like dating much younger.

There's also a lot of brain development 18-24. And female brains mature faster than male brains, as well. I would compare it to a 14 year old dating a 20 year old. Since 18-25 is the second biggest change in one's life, the finishing of development.

But hey. If you can make it work, why not.
