One thing led to another...and before I knew it, I was in a relationship with my professor. What now?

He's not that much older than me...

He's old enough to know what he was doing anyway! And you were young enough to fall for it. You get to decide what's next.

Usually these guys pick one cute bright student every year to assuage their egos and keep their masculine score card up to date. Please don't fall for the usual story that he is unhappily married because he got his girlfriend pregnant while he was in grad school and "had to" marry her. Or the other story, that he is a frustrated artist at heart, and really wishes he could write his novel, or sculpt his masterpiece, or paint, draw etc. and no one really understands but you. These, at least, are the usual stories.

Sorry to be so cynical. I hope I am wrong and this is one of the few worthwhile and lasting relationships that very occasionally do develop out of these situations.

Meanwhile, while things progress in your affair, have some fun by watching a very entertaining and, for you particularly, very educational movie:

Educating Rita

Seems unprofessional on his part. In any case, it sounds like the outcome may be messy. Tread carefully
Maybe he will fix your spelling. "One thing led to another."

Seriously, it depends on the rules of your institution. Here, the professor would likely lose his job if the relationship was discovered. But I'm told that some universities "discourage" that kind of relationship but don't strictly ban it. And of course it used to be fairly common.

@CinnamonWorlds He'll most likely lose his job or something like that. Honestly, nothing good can come out of it and I know this, I'm just being stupid.
@Tallie Then the more you care about him, the more you need to get out of the relationship.

@CinnamonWorlds You're right, point taken.😚

You have quite clearly answered your own question. Quickly and quietly end the relationship

Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@Tallie have you yet?
Tallie · 26-30, F
@Dolimyte I don't plan on doing it.

Looks like your passing that class, as long a shit doesn't go south!
goagainsttheflow · 31-35, F
You date him. The end.
Tallie · 26-30, F
@goagainsttheflow Except the relationship has to be lowkey else he may lose his job and obviously I'll get into deep hot water

You'll be one of many female students

So...how were your grades before this relationship started?
Tallie · 26-30, F

I hope all goes well, and that you don’t get hurt. But how good is his spelling?
Highway · 46-50, M
wang wang waaang..
What, indeed ? Hopefully he’s not in charge of your grade, or he’s crossing a line that could get him in trouble. And potentially be a headache for you.
