Is it a bad sign if you don't have textual chemistry?

I started dating this guy. We do not have great textual (convo via text messages) chemistry, but we get along just fine f2f and sexually. He's 13 years my senior and divorced. We also have a very mild language barrier (he's Russian). Thoughts?

ALSO: He's opening up at a very slow pace-- which is expected. And he's not too fond of showing affection, but he's actually trying to so better if any of this matters.

Russians are stubborn. Do you know why he got divorced?

@Adogslife I do not. I kinda feel as if it's not my place to ask...although I want to.

@thepixiestixs is there a reason you're looking for such a huge project? You're going to expend a lot of energy on someone that's already lost a marriage over his stubbornness, inability to communicate and being an affection abyss.

That's my guess. But I'm not a big fan tbh.

@Adogslife I respect your opinion. However, there's 3 sides to every story and to say he's stubborn because of his nationality is sorta far fetch IMO. I have seen changes in him since we started dating. Things are still fresh, therefore, I cannot argue that his behavior/attitude/actions are mundane when it's evident that he is trying. But again, I do appreciate and respect your opinion. Everyone you're looking to invite in your life--and vice versa--is a project. Consider this an interview.
