Escape - that’s usually the reason
To escape the environment they’re in for sex with another who’s wanting to do the same thing, all it takes is a ‘lifeline’ for some people
( this to me is how it’s stereotypically derived)
Connection - emotionally connecting to the other person regardless of not looking for it, sometimes it just finds you and it happens.
It isn’t always as black and white as one thinks - some are born cheaters in every aspect of life and for others it just happens and a lesson is learned from it, it all depends on the individual and the circumstances.
