Would you accept an apology from someone who physically hurt you?

I've only been sucker punched once back in college by my old best friend. I never got an apology from him, but I probably deserved it.

no, i fought her td bc she said "i didnt think it would hurt.." while laughing. im suspended for a week.

If it was an accident and they were sincere, certainly. But anything short of that, I have a hard time picturing how one wouldn't mean to physically harm anyone. It's good if they regret it and are genuinely sorry, but if it was deliberate when it happened, then yes they did mean to. Them saying that would make it hard for me to believe their apology is sincere.
