Betrayal of a Friend

Have you ever had a gut feeling about someone but ignored it?

I had a disabled friend that I felt tremendously sorry for. I helped her out every way I could and she took advantage of me big time. She had the money but refused to spend it to get help. I was not the only one she used.

As the pieces of her picture came out, I realized that not only was I used, played, manipulated and taken advantage of but it was much worse than I had imagined.

I ended the friendship 4 years ago. The final straw was that I knew when Trump was shutting down the country due to covid ahead of everybody. (our office manager's fiancee worked at Mar a Lago)

I called her and told her to prepare and she snickered. She hated Trump. She wasn't listening to the message, she turned it into an opportunity to bash Trump. it was the final straw for me.

She is a member of my church and I am really struggling with this. I sure don't have Christian thoughts.

If a friend turns out to be less than what I wanted or needed ie NOT a friend, then I tell them why we are no longer friends and I move on. I know few true Christians. You must move on forward. Learn from this lesson. That takes time. You were used, manipulated, etc. Being Christian has nothing to do with this. It is about being human and human feelings. Limit contact. Avoid her. And know that everyone has his or her own heart. Yours is a kind one. Just like your name. And sometimes you will get burnt. Doesn't mean that people are not mostly good. Have a peaceful day.

@PoetryNEmotion VERY very true C. i just felt sorry for her. I didn't help her with wanting something in return. but the ugliness showed many times. I didn't get the full picture until last week and it was really eye opening
@akindheart You are too kind, hon. When a person shows you ugliness, leave them alone. You cannot change an ugly person. You can only learn.
