I guess so, my ex is a powerful narcissist.

@zonavar68 same...I thought I loved him, so I ignored the red flags and I wanted the marriage to work because we have kids.

@1PrivateHannah I wanted my relationship to work because we were trying for, then had, a lovely daughter who's now 9 y/o. The narcissism manifested into DV, bullying and abuse towards me so I left.

@zonavar68 Same..philandering is one thing, abuse is another.
Even the children begged me to leave, so yeah, we left.

I hate that expression; how egotistical.

No and I wouldn't want to be. I don't seek validation on that level.

@DearAmbellina2113 That's positive. My second ex is a total validation seeker from all her female health professsional mates and has a chronic dislike of men in relationships (which I didn't know at the time). She's still single after 8 yrs since I left her as am I. I get more than enough 'dad' validation from my 9 y/o daughter and don't need any at an adult romantic level.
