If he insists his social life comes before sustaining and maintaining your relationship with him, it's time to make preparations to leave him. He's not considering you and doesn't see you as an important part of his life.
Do you have any children with him? If you do, or if you want to, would he put you and his children first or still insist his social life is more important?
I put my children first, especially my 8 y/o daughter. Anything I want to do for myself comes second to parenting and doing my job when I'm not parenting in order to afford to pay off my house that is our 'safe place' when I have time with her.
