Sometimes I wonder is my husband dragging me down.

I wonder if my husband is dragging me down. I used to help him so much financially. And now he is helping me but we are still renting and he saves barley any money over the course of five years he has saved one thousand dollars. He makes a lot more then I do and i have saved more money then him. He often breaks things by accident so we have to buy new things he claims he is clumsy. He complains that every time he saves money he needs dad to use it for an emergency. We go to therapy together but that does not seem to help. He thinks he is good with money he thinks he just does not get paid enough. He just uses his money on not important things like smoking and drinking. I just dont know what to do about this situation because i feel it will never change .

Ultimately you have to sit down and talk about your life goals, including the financial ones. If you guys aren't wanting to go in the same direction you need to identify that before you start resenting each other for being held down. If he's not willing to work on a plan with you, it sounds like he's not really worried about a future with you
@ViciDraco yes a plan is important i want to be as gently as possible but stern as well to get my point across, is it a good idea to bring it up in couples counseling?
@ViciDraco he thinks im bugging him too much because I ask how much money he has saved.

@Girlyfriendcollecting I would definitely bring it up in couples counseling, especially if it is that important to you. Ultimately, you may have to decide whether these priorities you have are worth sacrificing for the sake of the relationship or if the relationship is worth giving up these goals because it sounds like the two might be mutually exclusive at this point.
