Lately I’ve been talking to this new dude. But I noticed when I say let’s hangout or do something he says naw I don’t want any problems. I sense another female is involved… men is this something you say to women if you’re in a toxic or messy relationship ???

He may have the wrong idea about his girlfriend.
His girlfriend may have the wrong idea about him.
His girlfriend may have the wrong idea about you.
You may have the wrong idea about him.
You may have the wrong idea about his girlfriend.

You might like to use blue hat thinking and set the conditions of your friendship i.e. relationship status. I forgot to do that and lost a friend for it v.v

At least that eliminates the majority of those "wrong ideas."
