Musical differences in relationships.

I love classic rock, I also like some heavy metal, blues, classical, film scores, folk music, and alternative rock as well. I even like some post rock/ambient music. Classic rock is my favorite though. I used to want a girlfriend/wife that liked classic rock like me but now I kind of want someone that likes different music than me, so that way I won't get sick of my favorite music. I just want her to respect my taste and I will respect hers. Do any of you have a significant other with similar or different taste in music than you?

My wife and I liked most of the same music for many years, including country, rock and roll, and even show tunes. Now she likes modern country while I like classic country, 60's & 70's R&R, show tunes, some classical, Celtic, and even 30's-50's big band stuff. Our only common interest is Jimmy Buffett, whose music lives on. Long rides require music compromises on satellite radio.
