Did I set myself up?

I told my friend to message my bf to see if he’d sext and flirt back with her to see if he’d be loyal to me or not. Well he ended up telling her that she’s beautiful and he wants to take her on a date and worship the ground she walks on. After this conversation with her my bf changed his phone passcode and told me he wants space and privacy when he was always open with his phone before. What should I do now? Did I set myself up for this or did I just open my eyes to who he truly is? He has no idea I’m on the other side of this.

He should break up with you. You clearly have issues that are inimitable to a long-term relationship, trust issues being at the top of that list. And yes, he shouldn't be making plans to date other women if he's in a committed relationship. So, you're probably both better off to end things now.

He cheated before that’s why I did it to see if he was still like that. So should I be breaking up with him or should he be breaking up with me? @DunningKruger
