There's nothing to be ashamed at the age gap... he is an adult and so are you, and you are both attracted to each other. A mere number - that too an insignificant one - should not stop you.
His lying about his age could be a cause for concern... but would you have given him a chance if he had revealed his actual age? Maybe he was too attracted to you to risk that. His lying may be speaking for his character, as many comments have pointed out... but your stance about his age also points to why he may have been compelled to do so in the first place.
