Why does it seem like relationships don’t last long anymore?

Let’s say a couple that’s been married for 40+ years decided to divorce. I don’t understand why. I knew a couple that’s been together for 50 years and six months after their 50th wedding anniversary, they divorced. What the hell?

When you quit working at it or realize that it's been just easier to stay together because you're together it's over.
Usually it's been over a long time just not"bad" just comfortable.
