Is it racist if I prefer to stick with my own race?

I mean I don’t have a problem with interracial relationships/marriages and I support them, but I prefer my own race. I’m a white woman that prefers to date white men. I feel more comfortable. Plus I want my future kids to look like me.
Just being honest.
If you have a attraction preferences for certain looks (example: dark haired, blonde, blue eyes, brown eyes, fair, tan), that’s more on personal tastes.

But the fact that you mention about how you prefer your kids to look like you, that sounds racist.

Ask yourself, what is wrong if your kids look like them (others you don’t prefer) ? Would you consider your future kids not acceptable looking if they are not white like you?
TexChik · F
@CookieCrumbs In order for my kids to look like "them", I would have had to been raped. I don't think its racist to want your kids look like you or your spouse as you have traditionally been seeing all your life. Condemning someone else's kids because they don't look like me would be racist and unacceptable.
@TexChik
There are 2 separate points to your comment. You have to see your reply not as a married woman to someone specific at this point in your life. Then the rape part you mentioned would make sense.

I understand wanting your kids to look like what you’re used to seeing (family circle - your race).

But to reject *possibly* mating with another race just because of what the OP said about how the kids would look like is what I find questionable in her intent.
TexChik · F
@CookieCrumbs True , I guess I did unconsciously interject my own sense of morality into that.
Bang5luts · M
No. That doesn't make you racist. Saying stuff like, I don't want kids to look like such and such people. That type of mindset can be considered racist.
Ramrod · 46-50, M
@Bang5luts I don't think that kind of mindset is racist,people should be able to think for themselves, we all have likes and dislikes ???

It's not racist to have a racial preference. It's not sexist to have a sexual orientation. It's not fatphobic to have body standards and it's not ageist to seek partners who are close in age to you. Nobody's entitled to love or sex, and if anyone tells you otherwise, their approval isn't worth the trouble.

The part about future kids is a touch unusual, but not in a clearly problematic way. Def don't bring that part up if you're talkin' about it in public (for some ungodly reason).

Youre attracted to who ever youre attracted to. Straight, gay, bi, whatever. Big tall dark light small skinny, doesn't matter, Its okay
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
It’s okay to feel that way
Magenta · F
No, not to me. We all have attraction and life preferences,

But really the ONLY person who can answer this, is you, as you know your heart and no-one else does. On here it will all just be subjective biased opinions,
No but it's dumb because you don't know where love is. Plus I'm sure I seen this same post before! It's a troll attitude.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether I didn’t realize I get called out for being honest.
@ElizabethBabe1994 Making a scene is the second step in being a troll.
Suppose your white child has a black partner. Does that bother you? The answer to that will answer your question
Elisbch · M
No it's not racist. It's your life, you choose who you want to be in it and the results you want.
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
You should be free to fuck who you want.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@TheRascallyOne Hell yeah!
You don’t decide who you fall in love with at the end of the day. I have preferences e.g I go crazy over redheaded guys, truly, but I know when I fall for someone I have little choice in the matter. I may end up falling in love with some Indonesian guy, even if that’s not my style. Wild chemistry/electricity doesn’t care at all about your preferences.
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
Dating is fine. You like who you like.
justanothername · 51-55, M
What you are referring to is the stereo typical cultural differences views that some conservative people have regarding interracial relationships.

As long as you are happy with the relationship you are in.
JestAJester · 31-35, M
Yall worry about the race thing too much. You prefer other whites, so what? People generally prefer their own race. If someone complains you're racist they can shove it up their ass.
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
Not at all. I’m mainly attracted to white guys; blonde hair, blue/green/grey eyes, pale skin, etc. I can’t choose who I’m attracted to 🤷🏻‍♀️
Homeatlast · 26-30, M
I don't think it's racist. My mother felt like you. I'm black and my mother wouldn't allow us to date anyone outside of our race. I did in secret though my dad knew but my mom didn't and I didn't dare go against her. I ended that relationship and ended up marrying someone in my own race.
Homeatlast · 26-30, M
@ElizabethBabe1994 VERY MUCH SO!
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@Homeatlast Ok so do you find any vslue in openly encouraging your children to date the same race? Im not saying to forbid them but is this a non consideration for you?
Homeatlast · 26-30, M
@REMsleep I will let my kids date whomever they want. I won't tell them to date within our race. But I highly respected my mom and wanted to make her happy.

You asked a question, and I gave you an answer. You downvoted it. You clearly have no clue what being honest means.

@BohemianBoo
What's your problem
There's nothing wrong with having romantic and sexual preferences.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
It's not racist. It's your own preferences. It would be nearly imposibble if you wanna have kids looked like you one hundred percent.
Dominant and recessive genes lead factors of your kids looked like. If you have dominat, that is good but you have recessive one, mostly your kids will take their father's side.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@iamelijah how do you know
Ramrod · 46-50, M
No it is not racist,it is your life,your choices. :)
Wanting to date someone of your desired look is NOT racist, whom you feel attracted to or feel comfortable with, there is absolutely nothing wrong about it. However, the way described you not wanting your kids to look to certain way (other ethnic background) sounds racist to me.
TexChik · F
Not that I know of

Is this you?[image]
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
Yes, if the only reason for you to spend time with them is same race...

And if you mention the race....
Torsten · 36-40, M
no that is not racist
bhatjc · 46-50, M

Briggett · T
@Northwest its make me wonder why a person would post or say anything like that to begin with. It’s indicative of having some conscious biased based upon race.
Northwest · M
@Briggett Yeah and 3 people (including the OP) downvoted my answer. How difficult is it to realize that when you exclude an entire race, you're being racist.
It is a little, but not that unusual. If you look at couples, even in multiracial communities, folk usually stick with there own kind
