Is it normal for some parents to show no sympathy for their children’s first break up?

I went through something like this when my first boyfriend stopped talking to me. We dated for a month or two and we used to text back and forth. Then he stopped texting me. I would text him and I didn’t hear from him in two or three weeks. I told my dad all about it and he flat out said, “Heh. It’s over between you two.” I just looked at him.
He said, “We’ll what did you expect me to say? He hasn’t returned your calls or text in two weeks, he hasn’t visited you in a while and you do all the work. It’s over.”
My dad didn’t show any sympathy for it at all. I told his girlfriend about it and she said that isn’t a good sign and I should ask him is everything between us okay. I did ask but no answer. She said, “I hate to tell you this, but it might be another girl. If it is, dump him.”
I texted my late mother (who abandoned us) but she didn’t seem to care and said, “Everyone has problems! You think you’re the only one? Now leave me alone! I have things to do.” I texted her “But mommy wait!” And she ignored the text.
Unfortunately I confronted him on a video chat and I heard another girl and she came on the scream. He said he had least planned to break up with me. That’s all I’m going to say about it.

All everyone says to me is “I told you”

@SW-User Wow that’s mean. My best friends and my dad and girlfriend said the same thing. They didn’t comfort me.

My Dad impressed when, at 34, I had my divorce, noting my 2YO daughter. He didn't sympathise, and said 'you've got a hard row to hoe, Son, I feel sorry for you. But if you want to pay my fare (NZ to Australia), I'll be your man, help you find your new place, buy your furniture and whatever else you need to get back on your feet.' The Man!

If i see it from your father's view, i think in his mind you're still young and will have plenty more relationships. So nothing much to worry about.
