I read a review of this book a few months ago. Maybe in The Guardian. It sounded more interesting than the usual sports memoir.

@Harmonium1923 It is. For the most part it is about the life in prison. Being surrounded by murderers, con men, drug dealers etc. He reflects back on some of his won and lost tennis matches. Lessons he learned that he could use for surviving a dangerous place. Also lessons that he learned in prison. He made the most of it. In the first prison, he gave English lessons to other inmates. Then he got replaced to another prison, where he got to do some sports training. He followed a course on stoicism. That was very useful.
I so love this story. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Sadly he wasn't so disciplined when it came to his financial affairs . .

Better with a tennis racket than with a financial racket.
