Yes I read - mostly regarding WW1 and WW2🙂🥢

I've read daily since I was 15 because it helps you learn and understand more about the changing world around us. My degrees in computer science help me further develop my investigative skills and always stick to the facts. Always keep that sense of wonder about you.

I read masses of fiction (about 200 books each year) I also read to keep current with my teaching subject at work - Mediaeval History.
I don't make a conscious effort to learn things, I appear to have a magpie mind, collecting facts without realising I am doing so.
In a way there is a finite amount of knowledge about mediaeval times, although knowing everything is a physical impossibility.

I am a lecturer so a lot of my reading is related to my specialism*. However, my major pastime activity (indoors**) is reading for pleasure. I get through about 200 books of fiction each year. Once I find a new (to me) author I like, I buy their entire canon.
The current one is Ben Aaronovitch. (Not touched his graphic novels yet...)
*Mediaeval History
** Apart from sex!

I read a "lot" but i have a tendency to skip read when i get going. My mind will fill in the blanks, so to speak.
This can lead to some hilarious sections that come out as "i ate the dog's jumpers" and i am still not sure why that sticks in my head. Lol

I read dozens of books a year. None of them are “fluff.” Science books, poetry, literature, history, biographies, self help, health, DIY, etc.

I’ll come back to this question when someone that knows how to read can help me out

I read for pleasure, not necessarily to learn something.

I am a horrible reader. I learn facts very slowly.

Everyone is different.
I was read to as an infant, so much so that by the age of 3 I was able to read along with a handful of books. People say I was reading them but I think I had just memorised the stories as I had heard them so much... By the age of 7 I had read "The Hobbit" though...
We have an attic which covers the whole footprint of my house. It's my (our) study and where the books are stored. My Niece, in a moment of boredom I suspect, counted them all. There were 3250! One thing she found though, there were over 200 duplicates, so I let her keep them..

I don't read a lot and I only believe about half of what I read.
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
At face value I don’t believe anything I read unless it is about an All Blacks win.
scalenemaia · 36-40, F
I suspect that's quite often, then...
Technically, being born in Edinburgh, I should support Scotland's RU team but unless they are playing the Sassenachs I do tend to support England - mainly to annoy Dad who is an Okker from Freo.
