I Like to Read

My mom says I read too much. I read The Outsiders once a week. Like, I'm not joking. I've read it once a week since I've got it in August. It's such a classic. But I read all sorts of books. It's just nice to be sucked into worlds beyond belief, love other people's lives. You're not you anymore and it's just great.

I don't see how any one could tell a kid they read too much. But then I was one of those kids that got told that. I still read a lot.

@ModernStupidity: Tell the people at your school and your mom what Howard Bloom (NYCC instructor and famous intellectual/author) said about it: "The most valuable thing any writer can have is the vision of the outsider."

You will be VERY well served later in life by enjoying reading. It's so important and has a lot of positive ramifications.

I like The Outsiders! My favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird", or "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". I'm also a huge fan of H.P. Lovecraft's stuff.

Here's a recommendation for a novel about youth and growing up and teen romance. It's a comic novel about a middle class boy in a small Indiana town in about 1910. Because the copyright expired, it's free to read online.

The Outsiders is ok but you can totally tell it was written by a 15 year old girl.

Yah. But for me, it's better than ok. I'm definitely going to get over the book. I did the same thing with The Book Theif when I was in 6th grade. Loved that book and still do, but I read it like 2 times a month.
