What's your favorite genre of books?

Personally, mine is dystopian literature.

Anything with rhetoric and interesting philosophical ideas. I'm a big fan of Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Orwell, T.S. Eliot, and Camus. Random bunch there. I also really enjoy plays, from Beckett to Brecht to Albee to Kushner. Anything that shows the human condition in a creative way, especially in relation to society: the individual in relation to the collective whole.
