I Like to Read

What's your favorite genre of books?

Personally, mine is dystopian literature.
I don't think I have a favorite. I like science fiction and fantasy and memoirs. 🙂 I read true crime every once in awhile. ...and I like a good thriller and read magazines occasionally. I read the news and literature.

True crimes, books about the psyche of criminals, and all books of Khalil Gibran.

Anything with rhetoric and interesting philosophical ideas. I'm a big fan of Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Orwell, T.S. Eliot, and Camus. Random bunch there. I also really enjoy plays, from Beckett to Brecht to Albee to Kushner. Anything that shows the human condition in a creative way, especially in relation to society: the individual in relation to the collective whole.

Im really getting into chick lit....which is shameful

I had to look that up. It really covers a lot of ground and a lot of genres. I have read a lot that I loved and there were some I just couldn't handle, like A Clockwork Orange.

I like fantasy. And sci-fi. And mystery and just about anything. From biologies to historical fiction. Heinlein's Future History was really fun to read.

I had no idea crime stories were so popular. For those that didn't have a particular favorite, you sure did have a nice mix of genres. Thank you all for sharing.
I like horror and anything apocalyptic. Then Romance every now and again to brighten my prospects

Nothing will ever beat 1984 by George Orwell.
I recently wrote a dystopian screenplay. The title: deathdome
tend to stay focused on fantasy right now...

Anything that I think will improve my mind. The books I have been reading recently are "Intellectuals And Society" and "Forensic Psychology For Dummies".
