I read most of Sidney Sheldon's novels. I loved them.

@CookieCrumbs I prefer reading fiction. I get enough nonfiction in my life.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@SavingPrivateHannah It's been a while since I read Sheldon. I may give another one a try. Thanks.
SavingPrivateHannah · 51-55, F
@LadyBronte I also read one of Danielle Steel's novel "STAR."

@Harmonium1923 Thanks! I will have to look those up! I haven't read either of them. (I deleted the previous reply - I think I mistakenly posted it here but it was meant for another comment. Oops. Lol.)

Just competed Jekyll and Hyde but I want something different now. I feel like a Agatha Christie
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@greensnacks I've read Jekyll and Hyde and used to love Agatha Christie. I may give Christie another try. Thanks.

Have you tried John Grisham's 2001 novel A Painted House??
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@NightsWatch I actually picked thar one up last fall but haven't started it yet. Maybe I'll give that a shot first.

TJ Klune - The House in the Cerulean Sea
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@breezyboo I liked that one!
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@breezyboo I've not read any Klune books. Thanks for the recommend!

Ahm. The happy prince was a pretty short story :)
By Oscar Wilde
If you're feeling adventurous, "Mapping - The trash tier skill that got me into a top tier party." Even though the name is stupid as all hell. Its... a trip.
Or a classic um. Pride and Prejudice is such a great novel. I was girl screaming a lot at how spicy the drama Jane Austen had in that book
If I know your genre, I might have something or what you like. I read lots
I finished "Shadow in emminence" ever since the anime which was... another trip.

@LadyBronte That's awesome. I really don't like sad novels much either. If a novel makes me laugh a lot, that's the only way I can enjoy it if it has sad parts. Otherwise sad for sads sake is like blegh.
It's like something being grotesque for grotesques sake. No good. Breakfast of champions is my fav for making me laugh as a very dark comedy. Kurt Vonnegut is lovely as comedy sci-fi. Whats a book youve enjoyed and would rec?

@twistedrope To be quite honest, I am terrible at remembering the names of books I've read. I used to get them at the library constantly and have 2 or 3 going all the time. But a few years ago I lost all interest in reading and am now trying to find something I will actually finish.
twistedrope · 26-30, M
@LadyBronte I struggle with anything that isn't dramatic or makes me laugh and pulls at my heartstrings so I understand. Hope you enjoy your reading journey :)

I’ve enjoyed Freida McFadden’s books lately.
Just read Strangers in the Villa by Robyn Harding which I don’t recommend. I’m reading My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney at the moment. It took a bit to get into, and it’s definitely confusing, but it’s getting more interesting.
I read The Alice Network and Carnegie’s Maid a few years ago and enjoyed them. I also liked Verity and Salt Water recently.

@ChampagneOnIce I haven't read The Housemaid, but I did see the movie last week. I actually didn't realize it was a book first. It was enjoyable as a movie, bur I'm sure the book is better.
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@LadyBronte I didn’t realize a movie had been made. I liked the book, but I didn’t care for the sequel. I haven’t read the third book in the series, but I was told it wasn’t very good.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@ChampagneOnIce Thanks for letting me know!
hunkalove · 70-79, M
Revenge Prey, John Sandford's latest Lucas Davenport mystery.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@hunkalove Thanks! I'm not familiar with that author. I will check it out.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
@LadyBronte There are 36 novels in the Prey series. The first is Rules of Prey. They do go in order but they're all pretty good.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@hunkalove Wow! That's an extensive series!

LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Lugwho I enjoy Patterson but haven't read that one. Thanks.
Lugwho · 61-69, M
@LadyBronte The author is Robert Gold. James Patterson was a review quote.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Lugwho Oh yes. I see that now. Thanks! I am unfamiliar with that author. I will definitely look them up!
BooksRMe · 46-50, M
I'm not reading much fiction besides the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but if you're up for something with short sections from antiquity Letters on Ethics by Seneca is a gold mine of useful advice on resiliency.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@BooksRMe I could use a little boost to my risiliency these days. Thanks!

Musicman · 61-69, M
@LadyBronte I think so. Netflix turned the first book into a movie. Obviously it's called the Gray Man. The movie is really good too. 🙂
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@Musicman I have tried to watch that several times. I still haven't been able to get into it fir some reason. 🤷🏼♀. But I'm sure the book is better.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@LadyBronte It is. While the movie follows the book the book is definitely different.
Ariadne - cant remember the author
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
@0uijaFinger Thanks! I will try to find it!

@Thevy29 I did enjoy The Princess Bride, but who doesn't?), so I'll look into the series. Thanks!
