A lot depends on the realm/subject.
About art, I loved Irving Stone's Lust for Life, which taught me about art and life, and i ate up Walter Isaacson's Leonardo Davinci. a story of an amazing, brilliant man.
As far as a single book in medicine that had a profound effect on my career, it was written by Berton Rouche, not a physician, that dealt with uncovering unusual diseases in the public sphere, Medical Detectives.
History wise the recent Ullrich histories of the rise of Nazi Germany were profoundly troubling. To me the most important read is the one Ascent, 1889-1939

I read Dr Seuss books when I was a kid, and I loved them, then when my daughters were little, I read most of his titles to them
For the fond memories associated with them, they would be my favourites♥

Nothing of note was read as a child, but as a young teen I valued Baudelaire's Flowers of Evil, Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground, a volume of poetry by Emily Dickinson, and Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra as being my faves.
