Looking for book recommendation

Hey! I'm looking for book recommendation, specially classics or something you think is really outstanding. If you're from anywhere around the world, I'd be glad if you prioritize indicating a local book (To be clear, as example: A japanese indicating a japanese novel), but no need to restrain yourself.

I'm asking cause I'd love to read some of you local classics, if possible and avaliable, as a brazilian myself :)

I'm from the U.S. I really loved The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien, , The Great Gatsby, by F.Scott Fitzgerald and The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck. Not only are they classic novels, they are really my top favorite novels in general!

@DarkWaa Yes Steinbeck wrote The Grapes of Wrath, it was really good.
@DarkWaa you'll find "Grapes of Wrath" very relevant to now. The socio-economic problems it deals with still exist unfortunately and explains it in a very human level.

@JonLosAngeles66 humm, interesting. I do enjoy this topic. Good thing I added it to my list
"The Enormous Room" by EE Cummings. His only novel. Based on a real experience while he was an ambulance driver in Paris during WWI. It set the template for Catch 22, MASH and other war farce stories. And had to be a big influence on "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Next". Very funny, irreverent to authority and makes heroes of the misfits.

@JonLosAngeles66 humm, definitely gonna check it out, thanks

If you're not an American, The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. A slice of America in the 30's which is relevant today.

@Ynotisay Got this on my list, thank you! I'm Brazilian.

@DarkWaa Awesome. It's a true American classic but the subject matter can be applicable most anywhere. The plight of the poor.
Louis Lamour as the author. He has westerns, detective stuff and stuff about sailing from Europw to the new world

What type of books you are looking for?

Here is a short ancient love story of Nala and Damayanti from India.

@ABCDEF7 mainly novels considered classic or really influencial for the country's literature, but I'm fine with chronicals or other forms of short stories. I'm just personally not a big fan of poems.
Will for sure check out this pdf
