Why I love stories like anime or books

I remember now today after a while, as I'm in some despair. I watched anime and read books because the stories made me, they told me not to give up. That I had to keep going. They were encouraging parts of my brain to come back to life. The stories encouraged me to not give in to despair and disassemble.

Because being alone and in despair, if I give up it numbs the pain but also numbs the pleasure. And I will no longer be able to feel. And being unable to feel and alone, fall to vice and shortsightedness, hurt everyone around me.

Oh, I relate to that. you like them because they reasonate with you as a person and give you the comfort you didn't find irl. 🥺
But if the pain is too much and the despair is overwhelming, perhaps you would want to look for professional help?

@Friendlyperson I am healthy and will deal with this despair in a healthy manor. As my previous therapist instructed me. And as I'm not the type to beat myself up over things I cannot change.

@twistedrope I didn't say you weren't. I relate to what you said a lot though. To the point that I resorted to fanfiction to choose the plotlines to my own likings. 🤭
I'm glad you are doing well and that you are dealing with your demons in a healthy fashion.
Wish you the best of lucks.

I mainly like anime and manga for the character designs.
