Anyone else like biographies?

I read all sorts, but more often of those people I would see as creative - artists, poets, musicians.

@akindheart my sister lives in Key West, so we have been to the w enter White House a lot. Despite the fact that he was reelected, sadly many, if not most, US citizens don't think of him as a truly great president.

@akindheart Yes, that was the one. Great book, and a good man.

🤔..........Just wondering if you read Marc Bolan autobiography. I haven't read a book in years but noticed your user name and avatar photo........

@Jimmy2016 Hi, I have downloaded a few Kindle samples of Marc Bolan biographies but never read one. So many books out there!

Yes, all sorts. I especially like the ones of movie stars actually written by them

I am just now reading the Dave Grohl autobiography The Storyteller: tales of life and music. It is a fun read. He tells stories from his rather than a traditional autobiography format. Easy to pickup and enjoy a story or two.

Definitely my fave genre. I try to steer away from it in fact just to gain more experiences in other genres but I really don’t care about others like I do about biography. I think people are so fascinating.

I've only read Wilt Chamberlain's biography, but I only got about half way through because he does nothing but brag about all the women he "supposedly" slept and defend that he us "the best" player to ever play the game. It got old after a few chapters.

Yes, though I haven't read many the last year or so. Mostly European historical figures, artists, or authors. A few old time movie stars.

I like memoirs.
I definitely do. My favorites are biographical documentaries about people who interest me.
BabyLonia · F
I often read political biographies
SW-User
@BabyLonia Well, that's not really my thing. I did once try one on Charles de Gaulle but never finished it. Each to their own of course.

Just to say I like seeing the "flesh on the bones" so to speak. Knowing the actual lives can illuminate the works of an artist, or any expression of creativity.
