@Mrsbetweenfatandfit That basically is the story, if you just re-read the story. Except they left out a wedge: "Whatever your situation, just wait for a prince to rescue you."

@Marmaduke oh. Never read it only seen the cartoon. In the cartoon I saw it was a bit different. The pretty blonde girl loses her loving father seemingly to mysterious circumstances. Then she is made to work endless hours catering to her step family like a slave since she received no pay. That goes on for years. Not to mention there was nobody on the cartoon that was bad because they were ‘ugly’. Just those that tore her apart and enslaved her. And the be yourself bit did apply as well since in the movie the prince sees her in her rags scrubbing the floor and wisks her away. Of course it is an unrealistic Love story but they seem to have changed it a bit from the written tale. With good reason it seems
