Fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞🤞

It’s been two months of hives that have progressed to include shortness of breath and random lip and eyelid swelling despite four Allegra, ten benadryl, a pepcid, and topical creams every single flipping day, and they finally gave up hope it’s going to resolve on its own. The labs ordered look like everything but the kitchen sink so I can hope they shed some light, but it sounds like it’ll be a surprise if they do. Just bizarre. Have to say, though, even if it doesn’t quite kill the itch, with that much benadryl on board, I haven’t been this relaxed in years. Silver linings. 😂

You need to be carrying an Epi pen. I hope your physician has prescribed it. If not, ask! Shortness of breath, hives, and swelling should be taken extremely seriously. If you're seeing your regular GP and aren't getting satisfactory answers, please have them refer you to a specialist.

@LadyBronte Yes, this.

Sometimes this can be caused by a medication you've been taking, even if you've been taking it for a long time without noticing symptoms. I went through something that sounds similar and I saw several doctors that couldn't find anything. Finally a dermatologist figured it out and it was a med I was prescribed.

Have you seen a allergist/immunologist? Maybe see another one...that specializes in related problems like HAE...

Hives could be nerves - but breathing thing is concerning..could be food, bed sheets...try to think of any new exposures you've had...

I hope you feel better soon.
This might be a Mayo clinic-type thing...

But if your PCP isn't an internist, please try to change.

This sounds oh so familiar to me. I’m so sorry, I hope they figure it out soon 🫂
Damn, i hope you get help with it . Last month I've veen having ramdom rashes/hives, in same spots over and over, very itchy. Benadryl though and hydrocortisone cream is keeping it in check for me so far

So far it’s looking like my thyroid took a nosedive. Thank you all for your kindness. 💕💕

I deal with this too. I do not do well. I'm better than I was though.
Could something be biting you at night? Try eating a ton of garlic and see if it goes away.
Maybe you are allergic to something too?

Wow that sounds really frustrating! Hope you figure it out
Hell Nik, I do hope they find the cause for you. 🫂
