Who studies computer science in college and doesn’t bring their own computer?

Answer: my college roommate my sophomore year!

We were both computer science majors. He would always be trying to borrow my computer for assignments. He slept all day and stayed up all night so he frequently missed classes. I caught him trying to copy one of my papers on my own computer one time. He had changed the font to Creepy (who does this?!?) in his paper but the writing was otherwise the same. I deleted it and told him he better never try that again.

Some people are just not intelligent. 😅

I took a "sample class" at a college before, figured I would try to program. The course, with actual students participating mind you, students that paid, didn't have computers. They were told to code on paper and hand it in. What.

@Magnolia21 That’s a common technique when teaching software engineering. Getting them to use their brain and think through the logic, and not be distracted by the computer’s outputs, or try to ask blog websites or (now) ChatGPT for the answers.

@travelguy01 I'll take your word, but it seems ass backwards to me. At least with a computer, you can test code, find where the errors exist, and learn from that.
