What's up with EU and Irish houses, no vent in kitchen?

Safety hazard much??? CO poisoning, hello. How is this normal???? No exhausts leading bad air out of the house. Such a strange concept to me.

I just used 1/2 a tble spoon butter, and the entire floor of the kitchen and lounge is sticky...
Wtf????? Is this normal?
Kitchen= cooking= smoke. Which requires a form Of ventilation. If not, your fire alarm will go off and yes it is unhealthy.

Lots of older homes do not have that

@deadgerbil In fact, growing up, I knew no one who had one.

@assemblingaknob Can you open up a window for a bit?

@JimboSaturn it's cold, he hates it. i can't open the windows in the winters, i used to in the summers, but the greasy/sticky situation happens when I cook regardless of an open window.
