I Have Random Thoughts

From "The Weekly Sift"

"One thing I have noticed, though: In previous mass killings, there has been a "We are all ..." meme. "We are all Americans", "Je suis Charlie", and so on. But one measure of the power of LGBT prejudice is that nothing similar seems to be happening this time. There is no "We are all queer" meme."

@Jeancolby most people aren't called Charlie either. I think what ShoesofWandering is suggesting is that the world is still uncomfortable showing solidarity with the gay community. That's a crime in itself.
This is a quote by Doug Muder from "The Weekly Sift." I posted it because I think it encapsulates how society is uncomfortable with LGBT. So if my "suggestion" is unclear, I guess I have to come right out and say it.
A current events blog that I find to be very insightful. The link doesn't seem to be live so you may have to cut and paste it.

@ShoesOfWandering may I ask what 'The Weekly Sift' is?

This is an excellent point well made

I think I've seen "We are Orlando."

Cool thanks I'll check it out

@ CuriousGeorge, Another thing if ShoesOfWandering was suggesting that as you claim. Then why wouldn't he just say it?
jeancolby · 31-35, F
That's because most people are in fact straight. There is no 'we are all......

You are entitled to your view.

@Shoes - It was perfectly clear.
Really? Well I've noticed that one batch of school kids after another are killed, and gun control is talked about and then dropped. Now that gays are killed, the discussion looks like it might have traction
