I Have Random Thoughts

What is with all the orphans and single parents in Disney films? I can only name a few where the characters, or at least one of them, actually have both parents at the end:

Mulan 1/2
Hercules (he gets 4, come on!)
Sleeping Beauty
The Little Mermaid 2
Lady and the Tramp 2
Zootopia
Brave
Tangled

And that's about all I can think of. And if the main character(s) do(es) have two parents, they either end up dying early on or they only get a few minutes of screen time. What is all that about?

Actually, movies and TV tend to do that because it leaves the one parent open for a love interest. Even if no love interest happens, it makes the parent look stronger and more heroic dealing with raising a kid alone.
