In non-leap years, the days/dates for February and March are always identical,up to March 28 at least - so we score two Friday 13ths this year.In all such years,November always starts on the same day of the week as do Feb.and March,so this year - for good or ill! - we'll have a total of three Friday 13ths!

@craig7 You beat me to it!!
Underlying what you said, whenever a non-leap-year of 365 days starts on a Thursday, the months of February, March and November will start on a Sunday. And any month starting on a Sunday always has a Friday the 13th.
So triple F13 years aren't that rare. A grand total of eleven February-March-November Friday the 13th years takes place in the 21st century (2001-2100).
Also, if a leap year starts on a Sunday (like 22012) it'll have triple F13, and that cycle repeats every 28 years.
