Red states are being hurt by food stamp cuts

I'm not happy that food stamp cuts happened in the first place, I didn't want this but I mean red states are getting what they deserve.

they should have saved some money. for hard times. I see it coming many years ago.
@jackrabbit10 How very entitled and out of touch. Not everyone has that luxury.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow got my first job when I was10 years old. 3 third grade in school. I know hard times. I am 83 now.
@jackrabbit10 Good for you. But your own personal experience has absolutely nothing to do with the experiences of others. And alot has changed.

You were not competing for jobs with supercomputers.

You were not looking for jobs when college would put you tens or hundreds of thousands in debt where you might get a job that will maybe pay off your loans by the age of 70.

Houses didn't cost half a million when you were young.

Pretending nothing has changed is just dishonest.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow guess I must have been born at the right time. but I did eat lots of rabbit & squirrel's .beans and corn bread,

@jackrabbit10 You have me by a few years but I remember a lot of beans and cornbread growing up. Squirrels, rabbits, venison. There wasn't meat unless we hunted it a lot of the time. I never realized how poor we were as a child.
@jackrabbit10 To be clear I am not trying to be harsh or mean. I am just pointing out that the world has changed drastically so the challenges my generation has to figure out how to deal with is very different and has different solutions and we have different options available to us.

Just like in the depression and other precarious times despite people's best efforts we don't always come out better the other side and I think people also have to acknowledge that there is also a level of dumb luck involved in success or failure when things crumble at a systemic level.
