Honestly I should debate under alternative names on other sites.

I feel like debating maga is like debating people like Albert Fish the serial killer. You just get the idea that they're a little bit unhinged and also not that bright. It's wild.

I fully agree with you. I am currently in discussion with a MAGA type myself on this website and have realized that he too is a bit unhinged from the reality of what's going on around him in the USA.

It's like he lives in a different dimension of time and space and his rationale for his thought process is about on par with that of a 10 year old in grade 4.

@swirlie On that last part I know what you mean, I sometimes can't conversate with them because it's like talking to a child. You know how children talk is exactly how they do and type. It's so weird
@swirlie Sounds pretty accurate from about 17/20 of them; there are a few that are more enlightened, but not many. Yes, I know at least one.

What started out as a Republican takeover of the US government, was actually a re-branding of the Republican Party to the MAGA Party under the Leadership of DJ Trump.

It's not even known as the Republican-MAGA Party anymore because the Republican content vanished shortly after Trump hijacked the Republican ticket, then turned their center-right conservative theme into an extreme-right MAGA theme under his direction.

Today however, even MAGA is distancing itself from Trump because he's no longer singing from the same song sheet that they all started out on.

Now, Trump no longer has the support of the center-right Republicans, nor does Trump have the support of the further-right MAGA base-Republicans who originally called themselves the MAGA gang.

Trump now has a Populace Party unto itself which will only survive as long as Donald Trump himself is around. Meanwhile, the Republicans were hung out to dry by Trump and the MAGA gang were sidelined as soon as Trump could do without them to further his own cause.

That is why everyone you talk to who's a MAGA supporter, sound so confused and angry, simply because they all got duped by Trump and they don't really know what they are or who they stand for anymore.

At the start of the War of 1812 where the USA attempted 7 times to annex Canada and failed 7 times, it was the Republican Party who made the decision to invade Canada, not the Democrats.

As it turned out, the US Republicans showed up for battle with 10-times the equipment and 10-times the manpower than the British had at their disposal in Canada, yet the British beat the Americans at their game 7 times in a row.

It was not because the Brits had better equipment, it was because the Brits had a better war strategy than the Americans had which is why the US lost the War of 1812, despite the over-abundance of modern equipment and manpower that was at America's disposal.

That is also why the US lost the Vietnam War and also lost the Afghanistan War. The US military sucked big time at jungle warfare and they also sucked even worse at mountain warfare in Afghanistan, despite having the very best equipment in the world at America's disposal. It comes down to competency at war planning and execution, not the size of the equipment in hand! Remember, these are men who run the US military, not women!

Back in the days of 1812, the mentality that existed among Republicans to invade Canada in the first place was exactly the same low-functioning mentality that we're dealing with today among the MAGA-Republicans out there, who now want to start a civil war as you've stated earlier!

What you are witnessing among them in how they talk and how they type is precisely what the Brits were dealing with during the War of 1812! It was that exact same mentality!

The Republican Party therefore, consists of people who are of the same mind, no different than the Democratic Party consists of people who are of the same mind. But we're dealing with two diametrically opposed mind-sets here.

@swirlie we're not known for being smart, it's something genetically American I think. I enjoyed reading your comment though it gave me lots to think about.

What you are witnessing among them in how they talk and how they type is precisely what the Brits were dealing with during the War of 1812! It was that exact same mentality!

I wouldn't doubt it but that's a long time to naturally be that way without changing and that's scary lol
